What were you doing before you became an influencer?

I was studying marketing and public relations at the University of Toronto. One of the projects I had to create was a blog website. I really enjoyed creating content for that blog and continued with it until this day.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love exploring Toronto — especially downtown Toronto! There are endless amounts of places to visit and random things to do here. It’s such a multicultural city – I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.


How do you decide which brand to partner with, and how do you ensure that sponsored content resonates with your followers?

I will always choose to work with brands that align with my title as a lifestyle and food blogger. It gets difficult to ensure sponsored content resonates with my followers because I tend to overthink but I always tie it back to the idea that less is more.

How frequently do you work on paid partnerships?

Approximately 7-8 campaigns per month.

What do you enjoy most about being an influencer?

I get to share so many of my experiences with my followers On top of that, being a blogger has allowed me to create friendships with so many of my followers around the world. It’s been quite an amazing journey!

What are some challenges you have faced as a nano-influencer?

A lot of brands that reach out to me only want to offer a post in exchange for their products and are not willing to pay for my time spent to set up a photo shoot, take photos, edit and post it on my social platforms.


What is the all-time best performing post on your feed, and why do you think that is?

My Instagram Reels do really well! I have one that went viral with 1.9 million views and another one that has over 300k views. I think these videos have so many views because they’re fun, relatable, and entertaining.

Walk us through your TikTok/Reel video production process…

First, I brainstorm what I want to film. If it’s something that requires a script, then I’ll have it written out. Then I prep all the props and film. I like to film during the daytime while it’s still bright so I can get optimal lighting.

What are some of your favourite apps and gadgets?

Tezza App, Lightroom, and Splice for editing my video content. I use my iPhone to capture all the content seen on my socials. I do however want to explore DSLR cameras.


What type of content generates the most engagement with your followers and how do you keep them engaged?

Recently, I’ve noticed that my TikTok videos have been doing really well. My slang videos, in particular, are doing the best and I’ve noticed such high engagements through them. For my reels, I try to keep my followers engaged with happier and funnier videos which I find to be a great way to share my personality rather than just through IG pictures.

Where do you see yourself 5 yrs from now as a content creator? Do you want to continue with influencer marketing? If so, what do you want to have accomplished?

5 years from now, I hope to expand my influencer marketing to a wider range of social media platforms, one of which is Youtube! I want to create a channel sometime in the near future and hope that takes me somewhere as a career.
